Three Mayer Brown partners honored as 2025 MVPs by Law360
Three Mayer Brown partners have been named 2025 MVPs by Law360. The publication recognizes honorees annually who “have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.”
The 2025 Mayer Brown MVPs are:
Amanda Baker: Complex Financial Instruments MVP
Amanda is a structured finance partner in Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance practice with nearly two decades of experience advising issuers, borrowers, underwriters, and commercial banks on asset‑backed bond offerings. She is known for leading inaugural and bespoke transactions, particularly in consumer structured finance, and securing financing across diverse asset classes, including small business and consumer fintech assets, auto loans and leases, trade receivables, residential mortgages, and student loans. Amanda has guided clients through public and Rule 144A markets across the US, Australia, and Canada, bringing a strategic, results‑driven approach to both day‑to‑day matters and novel, untested structures. This is the second time Law360 has named Amanda an MVP.
John Prairie: Government Contracts MVP
John is the leader of Mayer Brown’s Government Contracts practice. He has more than 20 years of experience in government contracts law, representing clients in bid protests, contract claims, False Claims Act litigation, as well as government investigations and suspension and debarment proceedings. He regularly assists both large multinational contractors and emerging defense technology firms with the unique regulatory requirements of federal contracts. John achieved significant legal and strategic wins across major government contracts and disputes, including securing corrective action for CACI’s ID Technologies in the Army’s ITES-4H procurement, successfully protesting a $214 million Navy award over its FAR 52.222-46 evaluation, resolving an $8 billion Supreme Foodservice dispute after a $143 million judgment, and preserving a $50 million VA award for Ansible Government Solutions. This is the second time that John has been recognized as a Law360 MVP.
Brantley Webb: Benefits MVP
Brantley is the co-leader of Mayer Brown’s ERISA Litigation Group, focusing on complex civil matters such as commercial contract disputes, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) class actions, and trade secret cases. She represents technology companies, financial institutions, and multinational corporations through all stages of litigation and on appeal, including briefing before federal appellate courts and the US Supreme Court. Recognized by Law360 for a standout year, Brantley secured complete dismissals in high-profile class actions for Marmon Holdings, Inc. (a Berkshire Hathaway company), Nordstrom, Inc., and Mitsubishi Chemical America, establishing important precedents on issues ranging from customized investment options to plan forfeitures and stable value fund claims. This marks Brantley’s second consecutive year as a Law360 MVP.
