Mayer Brown's Gabriela Sakamoto and Rebecca Seidl named to Latinvex's 2022 "Top 100 Female Lawyers" list

Mayer Brown partners Gabriela Sakamoto and Rebecca Seidl were named to Latinvex’s 2022 list of “Latin America’s Top 100 Female Lawyers” for the third consecutive year.

Gabriela, a member of the firm’s Latin America & Caribbean and Global Projects groups, advises commercial banks, multilateral agencies and other financial institutions, as arrangers, lenders and agents, on cross-border financing transactions. Her Latin American experience includes transactions in more than ten countries in the region and across a wide range of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, banking and financial services. This past year, Gabriela led the Mayer Brown team that advised Goldman Sachs as structuring agent and placement agent in connection with the issuance of $300 million Series 2022-1 Fixed Rate Notes by Ecuador DPR Funding and backed by diversified payment rights of Banco Pichincha, the largest bank in Ecuador.

Rebecca, a member of the firm’s Global Energy and Project & Infrastructure groups, advises global energy companies in the US and Latin America. She has a broad transactional-based energy practice focused on stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures, mergers, joint ventures and similar transactions. Her recent representations include the $962MM sale by LSC Lithium B.V. of all of its outstanding shares of Lithea Inc., the owner of the Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes lithium mining properties located in the Province of Salta, Argentina to GFL International Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd.

Winners were selected based on their recent work on major deals and business, prominence of their law firm in Latin America and rankings by third parties.
