New leadership at both the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) seems inclined to pursue an aggressive oversight and enforcement agenda. Since taking over at the CFPB in October, Rohit Chopra has approached his consumer protection role with a distinct focus on antitrust and big tech companies, both hallmarks of his former agency, the FTC. And that agency, now helmed by Lina Khan, has announced a bold regulatory and enforcement agenda that could touch every aspect of commerce in this country. Led by Mayer Brown lawyers who each served at either the CFPB or FTC, this webinar will provide an overview of these important regulators, where their authorities overlap and where they differ, and what we can expect from each in the coming year.
