Luis advises commercial and investment banks, multilateral agencies and other financial institutions, as arrangers, lenders and agents as well as corporate sponsors, on complex cross-border corporate finance, structured finance, project finance, capital markets and acquisition financing transactions, among others, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean. Luis is a native Spanish speaker.

  • JPMorgan, as lead arranger and lender, in a syndicated $75 million credit facility to Campero Inc., part of a fast-food conglomerate that operates the Guatemalan brand “Pollo Campero.” The facility is guaranteed by several companies part of the same conglomerate.
  • Banco BTG Pactual, S.A., as arranger, in an up to $200 million syndicated loan facility for Forum Servicios Financieros S.A., a Chilean financial services company.
  • Natixis, New York Branch, The Bank of Nova Scotia and MUFG Bank, Ltd. in a $170 million credit facility with Ascenty Chile SpA.
  • Goldman Sachs, as arranger, in the establishment of Ecuadorian Bank Banco Diners Club S.A.’s merchant voucher program and the $70 million initial issuance of loans through a Cayman Islands vehicle. The Series 2023-1 Lender was the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
  • BNP Paribas as arranger, placement agent and noteholder in connection with a private placement by Dollar Diversified Payment Rights Finance Company of $350 million Series 2022-1 (2023), due 2029. The notes were an issuance under Banco do Brasil's diversified payment rights program.
  • Invenergy AMPCI Thermal Power LLC and Invenergy Thermal Global LLC in an amendment and restatement of a credit support and reimbursement agreement providing up to $164 million of credit support by General Electric Company.
  • Goldman Sachs, as lead arranger, and US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), as lender, in connection with $200 million Series 2023-1 Loan to Ecuador DPR Funding under Banco Pichincha's diversified payments rights program.
  • The Bank of Nova Scotia, as lender, in a $200 million cross-border loan facility to Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile S.A. The proceeds of the facility will be used for the financing of green projects.
  • Empresas Públicas de Medellín S.A. E.S.P., a Latin American utilities company and the leading utility services company in Colombia, in a $700 million sustainability-linked loan credit facility based on sustainability linked loans principles.
