概要
Jonathan Becker is a partner in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office and a member of the Public Policy, Regulatory & Government Affairs practice. He has nearly two decades of experience working at the intersection of law, policy, and politics. With a deep understanding of privacy and antitrust policy, Jonathan helps his clients develop and execute complex public policy advocacy strategies in Congress and in executive branch agencies including the FCC, the FTC, and the Department of Justice. He also counsels clients on political law, including Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) and Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) compliance and guides clients through congressional investigations and the process of testifying before congressional committees.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Jonathan was a partner at another prominent international law firm and before that, worked in government relations for a major US airline and in all three branches of the federal government, including positions in the US Senate, the White House, and the Department of Justice Antitrust Division. On Capitol Hill, Jonathan spent six years working for Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), first as Chief Counsel and then as Chief of Staff. In that capacity, he advised the Senator on her work as a member of the Judiciary and Commerce Committees and provided guidance on policy issues including technology, telecommunications, intellectual property, media, and transportation.
Jonathan began his legal career as a law clerk on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, following his graduation from the University of Chicago Law School.
