Mayer Brown partner Tony Weibell named a 2026 "Leading Commercial Litigator" by Daily Journal

For the second time, Mayer Brown partner Tony Weibell has been recognized by the Daily Journal on its list of “Leading Commercial Litigators.” The annual recognition honors the best commercial and bet-the-company litigators from across the US whose work has had a significant impact in California and nationally. 

Based in Mayer Brown’s Northern California office, Tony serves as a go-to litigator for premier technology companies navigating consumer protection, privacy, and internet law, and serves as lead litigation counsel for premier technology companies in diverse areas of complex civil litigation involving consumer class actions, privacy, e-commerce, intellectual property, antitrust, false advertising, and contractual disputes.

Tony was recognized by the Daily Journal for “leading high-stakes class actions and complex civil disputes that routinely draw national attention.” Most recently, he led the Mayer Brown team in a multi-district class action challenging TikTok app's in-app browser, asserting 15 causes of action under multiple laws including California’s Unfair Competition Law and Invasion of Privacy Act. Tony also serves as lead counsel for Google in a 13-year-running MDL involving consumer privacy claims raising issues of first impression.
