Mayer Brown’s Nicole Saharsky and Matt Wells earn spots on Forbes’ 2025 Best-In-State Lawyers list

Mayer Brown partners Nicole Saharsky and Matt Wells have been named to Forbes’ inaugural America’s Best-In-State Lawyers list for 2025. The list recognizes outstanding lawyers from all 50 states who have demonstrated excellence across a broad spectrum of legal disciplines.

Based in the firm’s Washington DC office, Nicole co-leads Mayer Brown’s Supreme Court & Appellate practice. She has argued 32 cases before the US Supreme Court, including the recent Cunningham v Cornell University, a significant case addressing ERISA’s prohibited-transaction provisions. In 2024, Forbes also named Nicole to its inaugural list of “America’s Top 200 Lawyers,” further underscoring her national reputation and impact.

Matt is a partner in the Corporate & Securities practice in Mayer Brown’s Salt Lake City office. Since beginning his legal career in Silicon Valley, Matt has played a pivotal role in the formation, financing, and successful exits of hundreds of high-growth companies. He represents entrepreneurs, growth enterprises, venture capital firms, private equity sponsors, and strategic acquirors in preferred stock financings and M&A transactions.
