London — Commercial and competition litigator Airlie Goodman has joined Mayer Brown's London office as a partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice.

“We continue to see strong demand in London for experienced dispute resolution lawyers in an environment of heightened economic and political stress, coupled with the impact of Brexit and the pandemic, the proliferation of litigation funding and proactive regulation especially in the competition field,” said Ian McDonald, co-leader of Mayer Brown's global Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice.

“We are delighted that Airlie has joined the team as it continues its expansion. She brings broad experience and dynamism, which will be an asset to clients in their highest stakes disputes.”

Airlie acts for financial institutions and large corporations on the resolution of high-value, complex and cross-border commercial disputes. In addition to her commercial disputes practice, Airlie has acted on competition disputes heard in the Competition Appeal Tribunal. Her clients are drawn from a variety of sectors, with a particular emphasis on the financial and professional services, and mining. Airlie also brings considerable experience in regulatory investigations and international arbitration to Mayer Brown, which she joins from Linklaters.

"Airlie's appointment marks an important step in our commitment to expand our bench of London litigators with the experience to navigate clients through ever more complex disputes, particularly those in the financial services sector," said Dominic Griffiths, the Managing Partner of Mayer Brown's London office.
