Mayer Brown recommits to ABA pledge on wellbeing in legal profession

Share
Mayer Brown announced that it has recommitted to the American Bar Association (ABA)’s Well-Being Pledge to support efforts to improve general wellness in the legal profession. The firm first signed the pledge in 2019 and this year joins over 200 other law firms and legal employers.

Organized by the ABA Working Group to Advance Well-Being in the Legal Profession, the campaign makes recommendations to help legal employers support healthy work environments, with an emphasis on mental health and substance use issues. The primary vehicle for the campaign is a seven-point pledge that incorporates education, culture, and internal policies to help ensure the long-term health and well-being of members in the legal profession.

This pledge is just one of Mayer Brown’s many efforts in fostering a healthy work environment; the firm also has implemented a well-being initiative that incorporates educational programs to raise awareness and provide resources to all lawyers and staff. For example, in observance of Mental Health Awareness Month and Well-Being Week in Law, the firm will host and partake in a number of events throughout May, from a firm wide mindfulness and wellness challenge to fitness sessions.
