Mayer Brown announced that Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner Keri Borders (Los Angeles) has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2021 “Women of Influence: Attorneys” list. The publication’s list recognizes stellar women lawyers for their exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership and contributions to the Los Angeles community.

A co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Food & Beverage Group and of the Food False Advertising Group in the Los Angeles office, Ms. Borders concentrates her practice on defending consumer packaged goods manufacturers, retailers, and distributors in both competitor and consumer class action litigation.

For more than a decade, she has tackled legal issues without abundant precedent in class action suits, continuing to push the envelope with innovative arguments, making case law – and winning cases, representing some of the nation’s biggest brands. In the process, Ms. Borders has distinguished herself as the country’s go-to defense lawyer for defending food companies in consumer class actions alleging that products have misleading labels.

In addition to her client work, Ms. Borders is passionate about the recruitment and retention of women in the legal industry. She serves as the co-lead of Mayer Brown’s Los Angeles Women’s Forum and also as co-head of the Los Angeles office’s summer program, which includes mentoring, planning work and social interactions and coordinating work assignments. Outside the firm, she sits on the Association of Business Trial Lawyers’ Board of Governors.
