Our Washington DC office serves the interests of our global, national and local clients across a broad range of practice areas. The office is home base for our Supreme Court & Appellate practice, which is consistently ranked as the leading practice of its kind in the United States by Chambers, Legal 500 and other ranking bodies. The office continues to expand on its top-tier practices in such areas as antitrust, cyber security and data privacy, environmental, finance, financial services regulatory and enforcement, global mobility and migration, government contracts, government relations, information technology, international trade, litigation, outsourcing, product liability, projects, real estate, securities enforcement and tax.
Lawyers in this office are routinely recognized as leaders in the Washington legal scene by such publications as the Washington Business Journal, The Washingtonian, Legal Times, Benchmark, and of course Chambers and Legal 500, and have served in senior positions in government and public service. A sampling of these positions includes: Special Assistant to the President; Deputy Counsel to the President; Secretary of Commerce; member of Congress; US Trade Representative; Deputy Solicitor General; Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the DOJ Antitrust Division; Associate Chief Counsel of the IRS; Branch Chief of the SEC; Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs; and General Counsel at the United States National Security Agency.
The Washington office is also deeply committed to firmwide and local pro bono and community service activities. Among many other pro bono activities, the office participates in the DC Bar Pro Bono Program Advocacy & Justice Clinic, taking cases of vital importance to the indigent community. The office also supports Urban Alliance in hosting high school senior interns, as well as organizing fund raising, mock trials, and other student events for Higher Achievement.
