Aperçu

Emily Nash is a senior associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology & IP Transactions practices of Mayer Brown's Chicago and New York offices. Emily has a balanced litigation and transactional practice. Her litigation experience focuses on resolution of intellectual property disputes in federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, where she has managed all aspects of a case from early settlement discussions through post-trial briefing and appeal. She regularly drafts intellectual property licenses and other agreements, conducts intellectual property due diligence in connection with M&A deals, and advises underwriters in issuing representations and warranties insurance. Over more than a decade in practice, she has also: helped global consumer brands manage their international trademark portfolios, crafted and implemented trademark watches, tried cases before the International Trade Commission, and assisted companies of all sizes in crafting trade secret, open source, and other internal policies designed to protect intellectual property assets and ensure compliance with intellectual property and privacy-related obligations.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Emily was Law Clerk to the Hon. William J. Bauer, US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Before attending law school, Emily was an associate in the Business Affairs department of a prominent literary agency in New York City and Contracts Manager within the Legal Department of a global trade book publishing company.

Emily has been a guest lecturer in Intellectual Property Drafting at Cardozo School of Law and speaks and writes on a variety of intellectual property topics.
