Tara Djukanovic is a Litigation & Dispute Resolution associate in Mayer Brown’s D.C. office. Tara helps clients navigate all stages of contract disputes, criminal and civil enforcement actions, and complex US immigration matters. Tara has experience across various stages of litigation, including drafting motions, discovery, preparing pre-trial submissions, and serving as a member of a successful trial team.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Tara clerked with the Honorable Keith P. Ellison of the Southern District of Texas. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Human Rights Journal and was awarded Dean’s Scholar Prizes in three classes. She also served as a clinical student in the Harvard Crimmigration Clinic, where she drafted motions in support of federal litigation related to immigrant rights and detention centers. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Emory University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Expérience
- Rosa v. Garland, 114 F.4th (1st Cir. 2024). Successfully challenged a Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) decision to deny relief by giving substantial weight to an uncorroborated police report, persuading the First Circuit to vacate and remand the BIA’s decision.
