Aperçu

Pavlina Chopova-Leprêtre is a partner in the Brussels office of Mayer Brown’s EU Regulatory practice. She focuses her practice on chemicals, including REACH, CLP, poison centers regulation, biocides and other related legislation. She is regularly involved in matters related to plastics, recycling and sustainability. Pavlina also has a strong expertise in other regulatory sectors, such as tobacco and e-cigarettes as well as food and food contact materials. She represents companies, industries and trade associations in cases before the European Court of Justice. In addition, Pavlina has sound experience in more "horizontal" EU matters, including general product safety and products recalls, EU standardization, liability for defective products, and practical implementation of the mutual recognition principle to facilitate the free movement of goods in the EU.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2015, Pavlina spent more than five years as an associate in two international regulatory law firms, where she focused on legislation and issues relating to food and feed contaminants; food additives, enzymes, flavourings and processing aids; food contact materials and packaging; GMOs; health claims; food and nutrition labelling; biocides and other chemicals used in food processing.

Pavlina has been recognized as a ‘Next Generation Partner” in EU Regulatory: Chemicals in the 2023 edition of The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA).

Pavlina is fluent in English and French in addition to her native Bulgarian.
