Brazilian Supreme Court: Environmental TFPG Unconstitutional

On April 17, 2020, a virtual panel of the Brazilian Supreme Court judged the Direct Actions of Unconstitutionality No. 5480 and 5512 and declared unconstitutional the state tax fee on environmental supervision of research activities, mining, and the exploration and production of oil and gas – the TFPG, created by the state of Rio de Janeiro through Law No. 7,182/2015.
