Raised Bill 7156, approved by both the Senate and House of Representatives of the Connecticut General Assembly on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, and headed for signature by Governor Ned Lamont (who has expressed his support for offshore wind), would require a potential solicitation of 2000 MW of power from offshore wind facilities. The law would become effective on October 1, 2019.

If the bill is signed, Connecticut would join New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts in the $70 billion offshore wind industry along the Atlantic seaboard with collective goals to add more than 25 GW of offshore wind power over the next 15 years.
