Share

The US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”) has finally released its long-awaited small business data collection proposed rule. Section 1071 of the Dodd-Frank Act mandated that the CFPB collect data about small business lending to facilitate enforcement of fair lending laws. After 10 years of fits and starts on this topic, the CFPB issued its 918-page proposed rule on September 1, 2021.

Join members of Mayer Brown’s Financial Services Regulatory & Enforcement practice as they discuss the proposed rule and potential implications for the industry, including:

  • What types of businesses and products are covered under the proposed rule
  • What data points lenders will be required to collect
  • When lenders will have to comply
