Overview

Pheona Chow is a partner of Mayer Brown. She specializes in real estate development works and has advised on a wide range of matters throughout the cycle of real estate development in Hong Kong. These include land acquisition (by way of tender, private treat grant, surrender and regrant, exchange and strategic acquisition of old buildings), government lease modification, development and redevelopment agreements, development services and project management agreements, building appeal on rejection of general building plans, project conveyancing, building management matters, property related litigation and commercial tenancies.

Pheona has extensive experience in advising issues relating to interpretation of government leases and deeds of mutual covenants.

Pheona has also advised on commercial agreements relating to acquisition of property holding companies and in particular, sale and purchase agreements, joint venture agreements and shareholders agreements. Pheona has experience in property aspect of the public listing of companies and REIT transactions in Hong Kong.

Pheona has acted for majority owners in various successful applications for an order for compulsory sale of a building under the Land (Compulsory Sale for Redevelopment) Ordinance. 

The nature of properties which Pheona has worked on include developments atop railway stations, hospitals, university campus, schools for people of special needs, historic buildings, bridges and container terminals. Clients which Pheona has acted include major property developers, property management companies, institutional
investors, universities and accounting bodies. Pheona speaks English, Cantonese, Mandarin.
