Timothy Choppin is counsel in the Washington DC Real Estate group. His practice centers around complex real estate transactions, with particular focus on the hospitality industry. He has represented lenders and institutional investors in hotel acquisitions and dispositions, financings, management and franchise agreements, and joint ventures in the United States and abroad.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2005, Timothy practiced with several other leading law firms in Washington, DC.
- Representation for the acquisition of a distressed resort property under construction and renegotiation of various hotel management agreements.
- Representation of a US REIT company in a joint venture in the acquisition of a dual-branded hotel and negotiation of Hilton franchise agreements.
- Representation in numerous acquisitions and dispositions of portfolios of office and light industrial properties around the United States.
- Representation in the negotiation of restaurant management agreements and leases.
