Employment partner Duncan Abate (Hong Kong) is quoted in a South China Morning Post article featuring the lives of Hong Kong people who left for the UK under the BN(O) scheme. On the issue of withdrawing their Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) assets, Duncan said "it is not that the money disappears, it just means that they cannot get it early." He commented that they could apply for early withdrawal of their MPF assets through a different type of residency or wait until they gain full UK citizenship, given BN(O) passports are no longer considered valid identity documents.
