Mayer Brown announced today that a prominent three-lawyer team joined the firm’s Global Restructuring practice. Led by partner Doug Spelfogel, who will co-lead the New York office’s Restructuring practice, the group includes Leah Eisenberg and Derek Wright, and will add depth to the firm’s growing restructuring capabilities.

The trio join from Foley & Lardner LLP, where Mr. Spelfogel was the leader of the firm’s Restructuring group in New York and co-leader of the firm’s Corporate Trust and Bondholders Rights team. They represent a broad array of clients, including financial institutions, indenture trustees and bondholders interests in bankruptcy, restructuring and insolvency proceedings as well as in cross-border and Chapter 11 proceedings.

“Doug and his team are well known in the restructuring community and their reputation as trusted advisers to creditors, investors and trustees is widely recognized,” said Brian Trust, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Global Restructuring practice. “These hires enhance our market leading Global Restructuring practice.”

“Mayer Brown emerged as the obvious choice for our practice,” said Mr. Spelfogel. “The firm’s well-known collaborative culture and commitment to the expansion of its Global Restructuring practice were especially appealing. Leah, Derek and I are delighted to join the firm’s highly-regarded team.”

“These recent additions advance the firm’s strategy to be the premier law firm of choice for complex cross-border restructuring mandates and will add to the growth of the firm’s finance, structured finance, private equity, funds and litigation capabilities,” added Adam Paul, a co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Global Restructuring practice.
