Depositary Receipt Programs

Share

A depositary receipt (“DR”) is a negotiable certificate issued by a depositary bank representing a specific number of shares in the stock of a non-U.S. company. DRs are an alternative way for investors to purchase stock in non-US companies. Issuers also benefit from DRs, as this product makes it easier to access international markets. During this webinar, Citigroup and Mayer Brown will cover:

  • Why issuers choose DRs and the benefits to issuers and investors
  • Types of DR programs;
  • Documenting a DR program;
  • US IPOs of DRs;
  • Trends (what types of companies are active DR issuers, industries, countries, etc.); and
  • New product developments: Global Depositary Notes (“GDNs”), Shanghai-London Stock Connect.
