André Aranha Corrêa do Lago holds a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He graduated from Instituto Rio Branco (Brazilian Diplomatic Academy, Brasília) and, as a diplomat since 1983, he has held functions in Brasília in areas such as Trade Promotion, International Organizations, Protocol, Sustainable Development, Energy and Climate Change. He has served at the Brazilian Embassies in Madrid (1986-1988), Prague (1988-1991), Washington DC (1996-1999) and Buenos Aires (1999-2001) and at the Mission to the European Union, in Brussels (2005-2008). He was the Director-General of the Department of Energy of the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations (2008-2011) and also the Director-General of the Department of the Environment of that same Ministry (2011-2013). Ambassador Corrêa do Lago was Chief Negotiator for Climate Change (2011-2013) and for the Rio+20 Conference in 2012. He presented Letters of Credentials to His Majesty the Emperor of Japan on November 7th, 2013.

George Miller is a partner in the New York office and a member of Mayer Brown’s Global Projects, Infrastructure and Asset Finance practices. In addition, he co-leads Mayer Brown’s Japan Client Initiative, aimed at strengthening and expanding outreach to Japanese clients. At a prior firm he helped open its Tokyo and Hong Kong offices and headed its Asia project finance practice for seven years. He concentrates his practice in international and domestic finance and leasing, in particular in the infrastructure, transportation and energy sectors. He has worked on numerous “Deals of the Year” and other high-profile transactions in the projects and infrastructure space.

Victor Galante is a partner focused on public and private M&A, private equity investments, joint ventures and complex business transactions, with expertise on development of infrastructure and energy projects in general. Served as senior associate with the London office of Mayer Brown and, as in-house lawyer of Vale S.A., spent substantial amount of time in Singapore, Malaysia and Mozambique. Victor has been recommended as a top Corporate and M&A lawyer by The Legal 500. He has also been ranked as a Leading Lawyer in Energy and Infrastructure by IFLR1000 and Latin Lawyer 250 and is an approved Energy lawyer by LACCA - The Latin American Corporate Counsel Association.

Luís Adams is a partner of the Litigation, Arbitration and Compliance practices in the Brasília Office. He is responsible for matters related to Superior and Supreme Courts. Adams worked as Federal Tax Attorney of the Ministry of Finance since 1993, being discharged in 2017. He worked as Secretary-General of Litigation for the Attorney-General of Brazil (2001-2002) and as Legal Counsel and Adjunct Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management (2003-2006). In 2006 he was named as General Counsel of the Ministry of Finance until he was chosen to be Attorney-General of Brazil, a position he kept from 2009 to 2016. As Attorney General, Adams conducted major cases in the judiciary,  being responsible for coordinating the environment agreement between the Brazilian Government and Samarco, Vale and BHP.

Eduardo Lima is a partner of the Banking & Finance practice. Eduardo represents financial institutions, multilateral organizations, equity sponsors, private equity houses and corporate clients in financing transactions, banking regulatory and related matters, including project financings (with experience of wide range of infrastructure and energy transactions), acquisition financings, out-of-court restructurings, asset-based loans and structured trade finance. Eduardo has been consistently ranked as a leading individual for “Banking & Finance”  and “Projects” practices by Chambers Latin America, Chambers Global, Legal 500 and IFLR 1000 each year since becoming a partner in 2007.
