Benjamin Shoemaker is a Litigation & Dispute Resolution associate in Mayer Brown’s Washington DC office. Benjamin represents national and multinational corporations in complex litigation in federal and state courts. He has experience in a wide range of areas, including consumer class actions, white collar defense, government investigations, false advertising, brand dilution, unfair trade practices, and cybersecurity and data privacy issues. Benjamin is also active in the firm’s pro bono program, most recently being awarded, along with his team, the “Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service” from the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is also active in firm welfare, having been elected to the Committee of Associates and Counsel and serving on the firm’s Recruiting Committee.

Benjamin received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. Benjamin also received his MA in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and he received his BA, with honors, from Calvin College, where he served as president of the student body.

Benjamin is currently on secondment in London, United Kingdom.
