Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown acted as legal counsel to Kinea, as investor, in the public offering of debentures issued by Portocem Geração de Energia S.A., in the amount of BRL 4.5 billion.
The funds raised by Portocem will be allocated for the construction of a natural gas-fired thermoelectric power plant, with an installed capacity of approximately 1572 MW, located in Barcarena, in the State of Pará, in accordance with Law No. 12,431/11 and Decree No. 11,964/24. The transaction covers 80% of the total investment required for the project.
The transaction was led by partner Luis Otero Montes, with the participation of associate Julia Zarth, both from the Banking and Finance practice.
