Mayer Brown announced that New York Corporate & Securities partner Ugo O. Ude has been named one of The Network Journal’s “40 Under Forty” for 2015. The annual award series honors people under 40 years old “whose professional accomplishments have significantly impacted an industry or profession and who also have made an important contribution to their community.” (View profile.)
The Network Journal recognized Mr. Ude’s success as a partner in Mayer Brown’s Corporate & Securities practice, where he focuses primarily on merger and acquisition transactions, restructurings, joint ventures and general transactional and corporate governance matters.
Additionally, the publication highlighted Mr. Ude’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. He mentors minority associates at Mayer Brown and co-chairs the firm’s Associate Diversity Council. “I strive to set a good example for all young lawyers by the way I conduct myself with clients, opposing counsel and other lawyers at the firm,” Mr. Ude told The Network Journal.
Among Mr. Ude’s other social contributions, The Network Journal noted his pro bono representation of clients such as Sharon Baptist Church in the Bronx, his work helping the Center for Human Development and Family Services become a registered foster care agency in New York and his involvement in fundraising activities for poor communities in Nigeria, his parents’ homeland.
