Tauil & Chequer among the best foreign firms in the Angolan legal market, according to The Legal 500 EMEA

The results of The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) 2016 highlight Tauil & Chequer Advogados for the second consecutive year as one of the leading firms in tha ‘Foreign Firm’ category in Angola.
The annual research lists the best firms (local or foreign) in the EMEA region, considering deals involving international clients, specific jurisdiction expertise and/or lawyers specialized in foreign law.

ANGOLA – FOREIGN FIRMS (Tier 1)
One of the few Brazilian firms with a significant Angolan practice, Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown has particular expertise in oil and gas and infrastructure projects. The team, which is co-led by Alexandre Chequer and Gonçalo Falcão, recently advised new client Single Buoy Mooring on the construction and lease of a number of Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSOs). In other work, it is assisting Quantum Global in structuring an $80m investment for the construction of a beverage plant, and continues to assist the contractor group charged with the implementation of a subsea fibre-optic cable network connecting certain offshore blocks. Chevron, ENI, Maersk Oil, Sonangol and Sonatide are also clients.
