Gabriela Kennedy’s regular Asia Pacific column in Computer Law & Security Review features an article Gabriela co-authored with Karen H.F. Lee and Maggie Lee.
In the article, the authors provide their analysis on the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Securities and Futures Commission’s (SFC) initiatives in countering cyber threats and their implications on financial institutions. The three authors expect more guidelines and circulars to be issued by both regulators in the future. They conclude that for Hong Kong to maintain its position as a leading international financial centre, it is important that the city’s financial institutions have a robust cybersecurity system in place and to maintain accountability for it.
