FCC Issues Guidance on Telemarketing Rules

The US Federal Communications Commission has issued a Report and Order stemming from its January 20, 2010, Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, which proposed changes to the FCC’s regulations under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Among other areas, the Report and Order contains provisions relating to telemarketers with regard to written consent requirements, opt-out mechanisms, and abandoned call rate calculations.
