May 2007 - On April 26, 2007, for the second time in six years, Houston-based oilfield services giant Baker Hughes Inc. settled Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) charges with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This time, the company also settled with the Department of Justice (DOJ); a Baker Hughes subsidiary pled guilty and the parent company entered a deferred prosecution agreement.
