U.S. Wakes up to the Changed Chinese Marketplace

30 July 2007 - China recently reached a milestone in its journey from a centrally planned, nonmarket economy to an entrepreneurial, market economy. The U.S. government acknowledged that in China's current economy "entrepreneurship is flourishing" and that the People's Republic "has dismantled its monopoly over foreign trade."
