Surprising Disclosure Requirements in the Dodd-Frank Act May Burden Many Companies

Although the title of the legislation belies their inclusion, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Act) contains significant additions to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements that are intended to promote greater international transparency by a wide array of companies.
