First Bill President Obama Signs Makes it Easier for Employees to Allege Discrimination in Compensation

29 January 2009 - On January 29, 2009, President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, a new law that is applicable to the vast majority of the country's employers. Meant to overturn a recent US Supreme Court ruling, the law significantly extends the time limit for employees to file claims with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that allege compensation discrimination.
