Effective enforcement of contract rights is on virtually every customer’s short list of concerns when considering outsourced manufacturing and development outsourcing services from suppliers in China. Over the last 20 years, companies in the West have turned to China for not only the manufacture of their products, but also design, engineering and testing (development) of the next generation of products. The change in companies' value chains has not only helped to reduce development cycle time and costs, but it has also forced companies to re-think their positions toward their suppliers.
