March 2008 - The Anti-Monopoly Law is China's first comprehensive competition law. While there are a number of existing Chinese laws incorporating antitrust provisions and prohibitions on anti-competitive conduct (such as the 1993 Anti-Unfair Competition Law and the 1997 Pricing Law), those laws are fragmented, confined in scope, and rarely enforced.
