William Clerke is an associate in the Construction practice of the London office. His primary focus is contentious construction. He advises clients, which include Employers, contractors and insurers, on various disputes concerning defective works, delays and professional negligence. He has experience in relation to various types of construction contracts, such as the FIDIC, NEC, JCT and JBCC suite of contracts and also advises on the security arrangements underlying construction projects.
William has represented domestic and international clients in various dispute resolution mechanisms, including international arbitrations and High Court actions, and involving a wide variety of projects. He has particular experience in relation to the construction of renewable energy projects in South Africa. William joined Mayer Brown in 2016. Prior to that, he worked at a international law firm in Cape Town, South Africa.
