Terri Gillis is a member of the Intellectual Property practice in Mayer Brown's New York office. She has nearly 40 years of experience in all aspects of intellectual property law.
Terri has both trial and appellate experience, including significant jury trial experience. She has litigated extensively in matters relating to patent infringement, enforceability, misuse and validity, copyright infringement and validity, trademark infringement and dilution, unfair competition, and trade secrets in a variety of courts. She also has substantial experience counseling clients on IP strategy and acquisitions.
Terri has a degree in chemistry. Her practice has included representations in such diverse technologies as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical imaging, diagnostic methods, agricultural chemicals, polymers, computer software, digital and film cameras and printers, lead processing and recycling, household appliances, food processing equipment and computers.
Terri has been recognized as a leader in intellectual property organizations. From 2006 to 2013, she was on the Board of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association and was elected President in 2011.
Terri has repeatedly been ranked as a leading individual in Intellectual Property by Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and in The Best Lawyers in America.
