Steve is a member of Mayer Brown’s Supreme Court & Appellate practice. He has briefed and argued appeals before courts across the country. Steve also represents clients in trial courts, briefing and arguing dispositive motions as well as counseling clients about case strategy in multidistrict and class litigation. He has extensive experience with class-certification issues, having defended against putative class actions alleging consumer fraud, employment discrimination, and securities fraud. Steve also has substantial experience in products-liability litigation. He has lectured and written about appellate procedure, class litigation, and products-liability issues.
Steve is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as an editor on the Georgetown Law Journal. Before joining Mayer Brown in 2001, Steve clerked for Judge Frank J. Magill of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
