Sean Connolly serves on Mayer Brown's Partnership Board and has been the Senior Partner in Mayer Brown's London office since 2007. He has represented major domestic and overseas insurance and reinsurance companies, Lloyd’s syndicates and their representatives, insurance brokers and other intermediaries and he acts on both contentious and non-contentious matters as well as the full range of alternative dispute resolution techniques. Sean advises these and other clients on professional indemnity disputes in areas including accountancy, legal, chartered surveying, investment banking, property management, insurance and reinsurance brokers and design consultancies. On the non-contentious side, he counsels clients on a variety of risk assessment and prevention issues.
Sean also acts for insurers on matters involving investment banks, offshore investment companies, trust companies, stockbrokers and other financial institutions. He coordinates multi-jurisdictional insurer investigations and litigation, and has considerable experience providing guidance on the obligations of fiduciaries, company directors and trustees. Sean also acts in a wide range of cases for both insurers and reinsurers on claims involving motor manufacturers, the iron and steel industry, electrical products, heavy plant engineering, paints, pharmaceuticals and health products.
