Michael Emerson represents taxpayers at all stages of federal tax controversies, including during audit, in administrative appeals and before federal courts. Michael has extensive experience assisting clients with issues involving audit management, IRS Appeals proceedings and litigation. His controversy experience includes major corporate tax matters involving international tax and transfer pricing, substance-over-form disputes, economic substance issues, and leasing transactions. His litigation experience includes matters in the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Federal Claims and United States Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2006, Michael was with Ernst & Young.
