Michael Baumert is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and a member of the Corporate & Securities practice. Michael focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology driven transactions, including licensing (software, trademark, patent, and technology licenses), outsourcing (ITO and BPO), software development, and certain commercial transactions such as supply, procurement, and cloud. Michael also has a particular interest in privacy and cyber security, autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence (AI), and intellectual property protection issues, arising from his background in computer science.
Prior to his career as an attorney, Michael worked as a software engineer designing and developing business intelligence, warehousing and customer relationship management software.
During law school, Michael worked at Mayer Brown’s Washington DC office as a patent litigation technical advisor assisting Intellectual Property practice. He also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Deborah A. Robinson of the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
