Meytal McCoy is counsel in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office. She focuses her practice on all aspects of antitrust including litigation, merger clearance and antitrust business counseling. The breadth of her experience spans a number of industries including food, grocery stores, financial services, trucking industry, pharmaceutical, and healthcare/medical device, and encompasses all phases of merger clearance, including pre-merger business counseling and representation before agencies in merger investigations, and all phases of civil litigation, including motions practice, discovery and electronic discovery, depositions and working with experts. In addition to her antitrust experiences, Meytal also has significant experience with electronic discovery, including e-discovery practice before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice, and e-discovery in civil litigation. Meytal is a founding member of the Mayer Brown DC Lateral Associates Committee, and she actively participates as a mentor for junior associates. Meytal also regularly participates in activities with the ABA Antitrust Section. Meytal is an editorial board member for the ABA Antitrust Section – Federal Civil Enforcement Committee and co-authors biweekly updates, which are published on the committee’s website. She also mentors new antitrust associates within the ABA Antitrust Section.

Antitrust & Business Counseling: Regularly counsels clients regarding deal structure, antitrust risk, antitrust compliance, and Clayton Act Section 8 (interlocking directorates).Helps clients conduct internal audits of antitrust policies and revise such policies as needed. Represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice regarding antitrust business matters.

Mergers Counseling & Investigations: Counsels clients regarding merger control filings and pre-merger issues (gun jumping). Has extensive experience coordinating US (HSR) and international merger control filings. Represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice in merger investigations and “Second Requests.”

Litigation: Has a variety of motions practice experience, including motions for summary judgment and discovery motions. Has handled all aspects of discovery in complex business litigation, including managing third party discovery, defending depositions, working with experts and expert reports, and coordinating discovery among multiple defendants.

Electronic Discovery: Regularly counsels clients regarding e-discovery issues, including litigation holds, document collection, and e-discovery pricing. Has managed significant document reviews and productions, including supervising 200+ attorneys and the production of millions of documents. Has particular experience with e-discovery before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice.
