Maria C. Cacucciolo is a staff attorney in Mayer Brown’s New York office and a member of its Global Brand Management and Intellectual Property practices. She has more than 10 years of experience in the intellectual field acquired primarily through working at global consumer product and luxury retail brands before, during and after law school. Maria brings a wealth of international commercial experience in global trademark portfolio and brand management, including clearance opinions, trademark registration programs, opposition/cancellation actions, settlement and coexistence agreements, online anti-counterfeiting and enforcement strategies, and false advertising and marketing issues.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Maria was a consultant at Diageo North America where she counseled business units on all aspects of trademark and false advertising issues. She has guided clients concerning the intellectual property issues which arise in all stages of a multi-national launch of a product — from concept stage to shelf and beyond. Maria has also trained marketing business executives and graphics design teams in the field of consumer packaging products concerning the trademark, copyright and false advertising issues that are especially pertinent to their trades.
