Margarita Peristeraki is a qualified lawyer focusing on EU competition law and litigation. She has considerable experience in merger control by advising clients on substantive and procedural issues, as well as representing them before the EU Commission and national authorities. She also advises clients on abuse of dominance cases and on the competition aspects of all types of agreements. Margarita has represented parties in State aid cases before the EU Commission. She has substantive experience in litigation before the EU Courts, including, but not limited to direct actions and interventions in competition, State aid and commercial policy (anti-dumping) cases.
Margarita is consistently recognized by the European Business Report "European Legal Experts" in its EU and Competition lawyers' section for Belgium. She is also regularly invited to speak in conferences and training events on EU litigation and EU competition law matters.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Margarita worked as a law clerk (référendaire) at the General Court of the EU. She also worked as lawyer with an international law firm in Brussels and she undertook an internship at the DG Competition of the European Commission in Brussels. Margarita started her career in a leading law firm in Athens specialising in intellectual property matters.
Margarita is fluent in English, French and Greek (native) and she has working knowledge of German.
