Jonathan Mok is a partner of Mayer Brown JSM. He focuses on high-profile criminal, big-money matrimonial and assets tracing/debt recovery litigation. He practises in all areas of family disputes ranging from acting for spouses in matrimonial proceedings concerning all issues arising from divorce, custody and financial claims to representing matriarchs/patriarchs who need to assert beneficial interest in assets they have transferred to their children undergoing divorce as well as litigation questioning on their mental capacity and inheritance related claims.  

Aside from family disputes, Jonathan also represents individuals faced with prosecution from law enforcement and regulatory authorities including but not limited to Independent Commission Against Corruption, Securities and Future Commission, Commercial Crime Bureau and Custom and Excise Department. Jonathan is also experienced in advising banks and financial institutions concerning property-related debt recovery.

Jonathan is one of the small number of civil solicitors to be granted higher rights of audience in Hong Kong. He is also the first family dispute lawyer granted such exemption that enables him to represent clients as their advocate all the way up to the Court of Final Appeal. He is ranked “Outstanding in Field” for family disputes and asset tracing by Spear's Asia 2015 Family Law Index and has been commended for being a “fierce litigator and wealth-protector” and “a compelling and likeable lawyer known for his thoroughness”. Jonathan is ranked as Band 1 for Family/Matrimonial (International Firms) – China for two consecutive years by Chambers Asia Pacific in 2015 and 2016. He was voted leading lawyer of Legal Who's Who 2003 for the area of Family Law (based on a survey conducted by Asian Legal Business magazine). He is also an accredited family mediator of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association.
