Griffin is highly knowledgeable on the domain name industry, including management of global domain name portfolios and recovery of domain names from cybersquatters worldwide. He also routinely counsels clients on new generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) management strategies, as well as Internet governance matters impacting intellectual property. His practice frequently involves new developments in the Internet ecosystem and within the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
Griffin also has experience with trademark selection, clearance, prosecution, registration and enforcement, as well as with handling trademark administrative proceedings and federal court litigation involving trademark infringement, dilution, unfair competition and cybersquatting.Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Griffin worked in the intellectual property and Internet group of another large law firm, and prior to that, the intellectual property and Internet group of a small boutique firm.
