Elizabeth Burnside is an associate in Mayer Brown's Los Angeles office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Elizabeth has broad experience in complex business and commercial litigation in both state and federal court, with extensive experience in securities litigation representing sponsors, depositors, and underwriters in various civil and regulatory securities matters relating to mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations. Her civil litigation practice involves representing clients at all stages of litigation in state and federal court and in arbitration proceedings. In addition to her securities experience Elizabeth has experience in business torts, employment litigation, healthcare matters, environmental litigation and regulatory matters representing banks, aerospace companies, educational institutions, law firms, medical groups, and hospitals.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2016, Elizabeth spent seven years as a litigation associate at another prominent international law firm based in Los Angeles. Elizabeth also serves on the board of the Executive Services Corps of Southern California, a leading nonprofit provider of high-impact, affordable management development services to other nonprofits in the greater Los Angeles area. Elizabeth received her JD from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and her undergraduate degree with honors from Wesleyan University. Elizabeth has been named a Southern California “Rising Star” in business litigation by the publication Super Lawyers each year from 2013 through 2017.
