Claudia Pitta is senior counsel in the Corporate & M&A practice of the São Paulo Office of Tauil & Chequer Advogados. She has solid experience as senior legal executive in major Brazilian (Raízen Group) and multinational corporations (Shell Group), including as Legal Director and Board member. She has a wide range of experience in diverse areas of business law, most notably corporate, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, antitrust, regulatory and compliance.
Claudia has led internal and external legal teams in the structuring and negotiation of shares and assets acquisitions, disposals, mergers, joint ventures and spin-offs, infrastructure projects, including project finance, complex merger filings and antitrust investigations, as well as in regulatory, labor and environment matters. Her experience in antitrust include an international assignment in the UK, where she worked on multi-jurisdiction merger control, compliance and antitrust investigations in Europe and Latin America.
Under her direction, Raízen’s Legal Corporate Team was awarded the 2014 best in-house M&A team in Latin America by the Association of Corporate Counsel – ACC and the International Law Office – ILO.
Before joining Tauil e Chequer Advogados, Claudia had recently founded a boutique law firm with Tauil e Chequer partner Paulo Lopes.
