Dr. Anita Y. Lam is an associate in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office and a member of the Intellectual Property practice. Anita assists in litigating patent infringement matters before various district courts throughout the US, including the Eastern District of Texas, District of Delaware, District of New Jersey and the District of Maryland. Anita is also experienced in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Her work involves a diverse array of technologies, including mobile communication devices, displays, automobiles, semiconductor devices, medical devices and electromechanical devices.
Anita also assists with trademark, copyright and transactional matters. Her experience includes trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, discovery issues in trademark actions arising under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 before the US International Trade Commission and trademark clearance analyses and prosecution. Anita has also drafted and negotiated a trademark consent agreement and a life story option contract for her respective pro bono clients.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Anita worked as a research assistant and teaching assistant at the University of Washington. Her doctoral research focused on elucidating the structural details of proteins involved in cholera toxin infection.
During law school, Anita participated in the Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court competition, in which her team advanced to the quarterfinal round of competition and received the award for "Best Brief."
