Angus Duncan is a partner in the Insurance & Reinsurance practice of the London office working with both the Lloyd's and companies' markets.
Angus joined Mayer Brown in 2007 having previously worked for two other international law firms. His experience of contentious matters includes the Chancery and Commercial divisions of the High Court, the Court of Appeal and (as it then was) the House of Lords, as well as, most recently, working with Swiss lawyers on a coverage dispute before the Geneva court. He has spent much of the last few years concentrating on Madoff-related claims, working with one of the leading insurers in the financial lines insurance market to monitor and, where appropriate, to act for them in connection with their worldwide Madoff-related exposures. Angus has also been working with another leading insurer in the financial lines market to develop their new suite of financial lines policy wordings.
Angus has a wide experience of professional indemnity issues including in relation to brokers, actuaries, benefits consultants, surveyors, technology companies, auditors, barristers and solicitors. Angus also works on various political risk and trade credit matters, including, in particular, various risks in Mexico, Bolivia and Venezuela.
In addition, Angus also works with colleagues in Mayer Brown International's pensions team to advise on pensions de-risking transactions, including bulk annuity buy-ins and buy-outs.
